Dark World is a Hollywood Action, Adventure Movie Directed by Alan Taylor. I cried. This is the best Marvel movie to ever grace my eyes. Although this film is named Thor: The Dark World, it mostly focuses on a totally unexpected but nonetheless brilliant character. The pure charisma and acting talent from Christopher Eccleston is beyond any talent I’ve ever seen. He plays a humble Dark Elf, graciously named Malekith, who has lost everything. His wife, his children, his home/Realm, gone. What once was a mighty and just ruler, now has nothing but his friends to save the world.
The fight scenes and cinematography are amazing. They add that extra spice to the viewing experience and the score rivals movies of similar calibre, such as the original Star Wars, Jurassic Park and The Muppets Movie. This film brings tears of joy and sadness at the right moments, with equal amounts of grace and nuance. There’s also some charming side-characters: Thor, the son of Odin; Odin, the scary king of Asgard; Thor’s buddies, the Warriors Three; and Thor’s little brother Loki, who is a mischievous frost giant. But their brilliance all pales in comparison to the wit and charm of Malekith, the real star of the show.
